2014 contest_night_show_3About Cascade Harmony Chorus

We meet regularly at Clark Commons on the Marylhurst University campus, just south of Portland to practice, refine our skills, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have about 35 singers, who are nurses, accountants, teachers, business women, engineers, retirees - from all walks of life, and from all parts of the greater Portland metro area.

Performance

We love to sing! We sing at shows, music festivals, community events, holiday parties, private/corporate parties, annual competitions and more. We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience in the Portland area to liven up your event, Hire Us.

Education

In addition to performing, another great passion is honing of the art of acapella harmony. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. We have regular vocal coaches, attend and produce music workshops and participate in educational events all year long so can constantly improve and gain higher level vocal skills.

CompetitionIn the spring of every year,Cascade Harmony Chorus participates in a chorus competition in the Northwest. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. In 2013, International Competition was held in Honolulu and Cascade Harmony Chorus placed 23rd in the world! In 2014, we earned a second place award, in a contest with 23 choruses. We are proud and honored to stand in such high esteem.

This past spring we had the honor of earning the 'most improved chorus' award! Next spring, April 2018, we will travel again to Spokane, Washington to try our skills competing in a regional a cappella singing contest. We look forward to the challenge!
